The spotlight is on Mysuru as its very own Alok Jain, a specially-abled cueist, prepares to represent India at the prestigious WPA Heyball Parasport World Championship. Organized by the World Pool Association (WPA), the championship will take place from December 14 to 20 at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, California, USA.
This global event celebrates exceptional talent, featuring male and female athletes with musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) competing in two categories: wheelchair athletes and standing athletes. Alok Jain is one of seven Indian players, including four from Karnataka, selected to compete on the world stage.
The championship promises thrilling matches, with 128 male and 128 female players in each category. The tournament format includes a double-elimination stage, followed by an intense single knock-out finale on December 20.
As Alok and his teammates gear up to compete, they not only showcase their talent but also embody the spirit of perseverance and excellence. India’s contingent is ready to make its mark at this international championship, and all eyes will be on them as they aim for glory.
Join us in cheering for Alok Jain and Team India!
